St. Olav Waterway

(Turku - Åland - Stockholm, 215 km)

Explore the stunning archipelago from Turku Cathedral in Finland, through Åland, and into Sweden, with various route options to reach Trondheim, Norway. The journey offers flexibility—walk the entire distance, select certain legs, or divide the route over multiple occasions. Enjoy the added benefit of resting on ferries during water crossings. St. Olav is celebrated along the route, with several St. Olav's Churches in Finland and Åland, including in Nagu, Jomala, and Njutånger. 

St. Olav Ostrobothnia

(Karleby - Vasa - Kristinestad, 480 km)

St. Olav Ostrobothnia is a 480 km pilgrimage route in northern Finland, running from Karleby to Kristinestad, with Vasa in the middle. It connects to the Norwegian-Swedish route St. Olavsleden leading to Trondheim and is divided into 21 day stages suitable for daily hiking. The Olav cult spread to the Bothnia region in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, and the route features several churches dedicated to or depicting Olav. From Vasa, you can take a ferry to Sweden.
